Chifuniro Banda

Chifuniro Banda is a Programs Manager at Able Foundation, where he contributes to the organisation's work in inclusive education, dyslexia awareness, learner support and disability inclusion.

His work is centred on helping create learning environments where children and young people with different learning needs and abilities can receive appropriate support, participate meaningfully and develop their potential.

Chifuniro has a background in education, with a Bachelor of Arts in Education (Literature and Linguistics) from Malawi Assemblies of God University. His professional interests include literacy development, inclusive teaching and supporting learners with dyslexia and other special educational needs.

Through his work with Able Foundation, he has been involved in dyslexia advocacy and awareness activities, supporting efforts to help schools, teachers and communities better understand dyslexia and respond to learners' needs. His public advocacy has also highlighted the importance of inclusive sports in creating opportunities for children with additional learning needs to participate, build confidence and develop a sense of belonging.

Chifuniro has also represented and supported Able Foundation's engagement in wider disability and education initiatives, including the 2026 Africa Disability Coordination Summit and activities connected to foundational learning and inclusive education.

As Programs Manager, he contributes to translating Able Foundation's vision into practical programmes and activities that connect education, awareness, inclusion, skills development and participation.

His work reflects a commitment to a simple principle: learners should be understood for their abilities and supported with the opportunities they need to thrive.
